Highlights
At Kio Buggy there is visual evidence of a telescoped porphyry in reverse circulation (“RC”) drill cuttings (Kio Target; Figure 1). These observations suggest that epithermal and porphyry magmatic hydrothermal systems are superimposed which is an important feature observed in high primary sulphide (hypogene) grade porphyry copper deposits globally. Kio Buggy, airborne magnetic geophysics, geological mapping, rock geochemistry and historical diamond drilling suggest there are two concentrically zoned (alteration) preserved porphyry centers with bulk minable copper-gold potential (Kio and Buggy) that are separated by a three-kilometer segment of reactive calcareous sedimentary rocks (ATC Target) with CRD (Carbonate Replacement Deposit) potential. A recent geological field campaign was completed to de-risk drill targets planned for Kio, ATC and Buggy. With minimal additional work, these three targets will be drill ready.
At the La Rica property, CopperEx’s predecessor discovered skarn mineralization exposed over approximately 2,000m that ranges in width approximately 60-70m (Figure 2). A total of 36 rock geochemical samples have been collected from the skarn with highlight results including 7.19% Cu and 4.75% Cu (Table 1)1. The La Rica property is located 45km northwest of the Las Bambas mine (MMG). La Rica is located within the Andahuaylas-Yauri belt, which hosts the Las Bambas, Haquira, Los Chancas, Cotambambas, Constancia, Antapaccay and Tintaya deposits2. The geological setting similarities between the Las Bambas and La Rica properties are compelling with both having limestone skarn, high grade mineralization, retrograde mineralization and both properties having distinctive porphyry models. With minimal field work, we believe we have the potential to add significant value to La Rica.
The company has 100% ownership of two large properties located between producing copper mines, both with no underlying royalties attached.
